Founded in 1996, RTA Laboratuvarları operated in the field of animal health by importing and distributing poultry vaccines and supplying auxiliary materials and equipment for vaccination. In 2002, the company moved to its new facility in Gebze Plastikçiler Organized Industrial Zone and started R&D and production activities in the field of human health. In 2004, with a TÜBİTAK project in cooperation with Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, GATA and TÜBİTAK MAM Gene Engineering, the development of molecular and immunological products used in the diagnosis of Hepatitis B began. At the same time, laboratories and clean areas were established for the development and production of microbiology products. In a short time, RTA-branded products for clinical and industrial microbiology were introduced to the market.
In 2011, RTA received CE certification from a European Union notified body for its high-risk Hepatitis B Virus Real-Time PCR kit, making it one of the few kit manufacturers in the world in this field. This success was followed by Hepatitis C, HIV and CMV kits.
In 2014, RTA Laboratuvarları offered 34% of its shares to the public, becoming the first biotechnology company in Türkiye to be listed on the stock exchange.
RTA Laboratuvarları has close relations with scientists, industrial companies, clinics, universities and research institutions in its field and has completed many publicly funded projects. In 2017, RTA Laboratuvarları was granted R&D Center status by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology.
In 2018, the company was acquired by Güler Yatırım A.Ş. and continues its R&D and production activities.
